Exam Format

Time : 90 mins

The exam will be divided into 3 sections based on level of difficulty.

Level 1-2


Recall of information

Not reached a standard described by any of the adjacent descriptors

Able to recall scientific ideas and concepts

Able apply concepts to solve simple problems


Level 3-4


Explaining information

Not reached a standard described

Able to provide an explanation showing understanding

Able to analyze scientific info by identifying parts, relationships or causes

Able to apply scientific concepts to solve problems in familiar situations


Level5-6


Interpreting
information


Does not reach a standard described

You are able to apply scientific understandings to explain scientific ideas and concepts

Able to solve problems in familiar and unfamiliar situations

Able to analyze and evaluate scientific information to make a scientifically supported judgement.



Exam Content

The exam will contain material form the whole of the semester although there will be a heavier weighting towards material covered in the second half of the semester. Topics covered 'What is life' and 'Why am I like this'. Course content can be found in the document below:
